Dr. Seyed Hossein Sadat Meidani - Iranian diplomat and Professor of International Law. He has served in the Foreign Ministry of the Islamic Republic of Iran since 1998. Among other diplomatic experiences, he has served as legal advisor to many delegations and missions of the Islamic Republic of Iran, most recently in the negotiations leading to the JCPOA (Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action known as Iran nuclear deal) and its implementation from 2014 till 2020.

Moreover, as an international lawyer, he has acted as the Deputy-Agent and Counsel in the case before the International Court of Justice (ICJ) concerning Alleged Violations of the 1955 Treaty of Amity, Economic Relations, And Consular Rights (Islamic Republic of Iran v. United States of America). Also, he was the member and Vice-chairman of the Scientific and Technical Advisory Body (STAB) related to the implementation of The UNESCO Convention on the Protection of the Underwater Cultural Heritage (2013-2017).

Since 2017, he has joined the School of International relations (S.I.R.) and is now the assistant professor of the School which is affiliated to the Foreign Ministry of Iran. His works and researches primarily are focused on the International Law and he is the author of many books and articles in this field, most notably on Conflict Resolution, International Dispute Settlement and the Law of International Organizations. 

Before his appointment as Iran’s Ambassador to Romania, he was the Director General for the JCPOA Implementation Task Force of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and represented Iran in the related meetings, including in the JCPOA Joint Commissions for two years.
