This is a disinformation that Israel has a right to Self-defence against Palestinians under international law.

Israel as the occupying power in Palestine does not have such right under international law. This false claim of Israel was rejected by the International Court of Justice, the Principal Judicial Organ of the United Nation, in the case concerning Legal Consequences of the Construction of a Wall in the Occupied Palestinian Territory (Advisory Opinion of 9 July 2004, Paragraph 139)

On 27 October 2023, this conclusion reaffirmed by the United Nations Independent International Commission of Inquiry on the Occupied Palestinian Territory. “The Commission refers to the advisory opinion of the International Court of Justice in 2004, which affirmed that Israel is the Occupying Power over the Occupied Palestinian Territory and that Article 51 of the Charter is not applicable in this case – when the threat originates from a territory over which Israel exercises control.”
